Antoine Sanzay
Antoine Sanzay farms seven hectares of vines in Saumur-Champigny, all organically tended and mostly planted to old-vine Cabernet Franc. A former grape farmer for the local co-op, Antoine struck out on his own in the early 2000s and quickly earned a reputation for making some of the most elegant and soulful wines in the region. His wines are fermented naturally and aged in a combination of concrete and old barrels, with a light touch that emphasizes freshness and finesse. From the sandy soils of Champigny to the tuffeau-rich vineyards of Puy Notre Dame, his wines are textured, mineral, and unmistakably Loire.
