After a long career as a computer engineer at IBM, Darko Derenda chose a very different path. Together with his wife Beti, he moved to the quiet village of Štanjel in Slovenia’s Karst region, where they began a new chapter as winemakers. Their vineyards are trained using the traditional Rozge method, naturally limiting yields and producing wines of deep concentration. Darko’s philosophy is defined by Tim. He insists on extended aging, often waiting six to seven years before releasing a bottle. His wines are a true reflection of this thoughtful approach: balanced, powerful, and shaped by the rhythms of nature rather than the pressures of the market.
