Teran is the native red grape to the Kras/Carso region of Slovenia and Italy. It tends to have high acidity and robust tannins. In Derenda's hands the wine expresses its true nature, but barrel aging helps to soften some of the sharper edges of the wine.
This 2018 is still supremely vibrant and highly aromatic. Lots of small berry fruit aromas as well as a distinctive herbal touch, reminiscent of juniper and pine needles. There is a fresh and saline touch and a very bright acidity. This is a wine which deserves to be paired with food as it will complement dishes so well!
