Aubeterre is unique among the offerings of Domaine du Gringet as it is the only cuvée of Altesse they produce. This makes the wine eligible for the Roussette de Savoie AOC which is a regional appellation focused on the Altesse grape.

Also a single plot, downslope from a parcel of Gringet which makes up the La Paille, Aubeterre is immediately distinct in flavor and profile from its Gringet siblings, despite the same vinification methods. A much more waxy texture on the palate, along with aromas of hay, beeswax, and ripe stonefruit dominate the wine. Truly a unique expression of Altesse and yet, representative of its place!

Domaine du Gringet

Tucked between Geneva and Mont Blanc in the Alpine village of Ayse, Domaine du Gringet is home to more than half of the world’s plantings of the rare Gringet grape. Now led by a group of vignerons including Vincent Ruiz and Miguel Sarzier, the domaine carries forward the legacy of Dominique Belluard, who championed this singular variety. Their mission is to honor the land’s farming traditions while showcasing the remarkable diversity of Ayse’s soils. Each micro-parcel is vinified with care, allowing the unique alpine terroir to shine.
