In 2018 Jean-Baptiste returned to his family’s estate in Mouzillon to revive some of his family’s best and oldest parcels. After a few years working at Bodegas Charcra and Domaine Roulot, he returned with a desire to reinvent people’s perceptions of Muscadet. Here the soils are diverse with a mixture of gabbro, silica, clay, and limestone. This, paired with high-level Burgundian wine making, you begin to realize why Jean-Baptiste is becoming one of the appelations best winemakers. The wines are what you excpect from Muscadet, textural and chewy but with a saline hit.
