Maxime Magnon St. Jacques 2022

Maxime Magnon crafts wines in the remote Hautes-Corbières region of southern France. A Burgundy native, he settled in the Languedoc to explore old-vine Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsault planted on schist and limestone soils. His farming is organic and biodynamic and he works entirely by hand in the rugged, windswept vineyards. In the cellar, Maxime uses whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts, and neutral oak to produce wines of remarkable finesse and vibrancy. Rather than rustic or heavy, his bottlings are lifted, floral, and complex like a Burgundian lens on Mediterranean grapes.
