Alexander Schregel is a young winemaker showing Germany the true
capabilities of dry riesling. Having only started his project in 2021,
Alexander is still currently the vineyard manager for Weingut Leitz. For his own
project he focuses on 2 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards
planted a mixture of slate, quartz, and loam. Here we see the style
of the Rheingau is full force. Alexander’s wines are dense and full on
the palette. This density is balanced out by a real energy and
animation in the glass. The wines are both heavy and light, round
and linear. We are so impressed by Alexander’s drive and we know
that soon these wines will be spoken about with the greats.
