We are so proud of the winemakers we work with, both as part of our own imports and whose wines we offer as part of our webshop.

During the course of building our portfolio and over the years of our collective journey through the wine world, we have come across a number of truly inspiring women winemakers in what is still a fairly male dominated industry.

We feel it is important to highlight these women who are making excellent wines, contributing to making the wine industry a more inclusive place, and helping to pave the way for future generations of women to take the lead of a domaine, or even feel inspired to work in wine in general.

Raphaëlle Guyot is a groundbreaking winemaker, literally! In her native region of the Yonne, which is technically part Burgundy, but sits somewhere in between Chablis and Sancerre, Raphaëlle is reclaiming a forgotten region. Having studied old maps to see where vines used to be planted, she is now re-planting vines on those spots, helping to revitalise this once productive region. This is a long-term vision which will take time, so she also works with various growers in Auxerre and Chablis to make a line of negociant wines which speak true of their place and to her skills as a winemaker.

The two sisters Francesca and Margharita, who dreamed up and created the Fonterenza estate are quietly making some of the finest Sangiovese on the hill of Montalcino. Originally from Milan, they visited the area consistently during their youth, and decided to start a winery there with the focus on the the farming being a top priority from the very beginning. Now their biodynamically farmed vines produce such beautiful and soulful wines, balancing power and elegance, matching the best of what Montalcino has to offer.
