From a small, limestone-rich parcel on the Beaune coteau, Les Monsnières is a truly elegant expression of Chardonnay. Fermented and aged in used barrels, the wine has depth without weight, showing precise citrus, white stone fruit, and a chalky mineral line reflective of the intensely stony plot it comes from. The additional time in steel tank before bottling helps to tighten the stucture of the wine without rounding off its edge. Only 900 bottles made—a delicate, quietly detailed wine with a clear sense of place.

Domaine Petit-Roy

Born in China and raised in Japan, Seiichi Saito moved to Burgundy in 2006 to pursue his passion for wine. After studying in Beaune and spending many years gaining experience with some of the region’s most respected domaines, he founded Domaine Petit-Roy in Chorey-Les-Beaune. Here he farms vineyards across Burgundy and crafts a diverse range of wines, with a focus on the Côte de Beaune. Seiichi has a particular affinity for the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, seeing it as a key area for Burgundy’s future amid climate challenges. His approach is gentle and respectful, letting the land speak for itself.
