The La Madone cuvée is a special project from the Domaine du Gringet team in 2023. They wanted to test out what it would look like to vinify without adding any additional sulfur to the wine.

They isolated about 700l of juice from the plot of Chez Reydet, from which they pull the base of the La Bergerie blend, and fermented it separately in concrete eggs. This was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with zero additional SO2. It gives a very different expression of place than La Bergerie, with a more linear feeling as well as a vibrant texture.

Domaine du Gringet

Tucked between Geneva and Mont Blanc in the Alpine village of Ayse, Domaine du Gringet is home to more than half of the world’s plantings of the rare Gringet grape. Now led by a group of vignerons including Vincent Ruiz and Miguel Sarzier, the domaine carries forward the legacy of Dominique Belluard, who championed this singular variety. Their mission is to honor the land’s farming traditions while showcasing the remarkable diversity of Ayse’s soils. Each micro-parcel is vinified with care, allowing the unique alpine terroir to shine.
