One of the native Lebanese varietals which Maher has helped build a reputation for, Merweh is one of his crown jewels. The wine speaks of the mediterranean warmth, but also of the sea which sits only a few kilometers away as the crow flies. High elevation and extremely old vines make this a special heritage of the region.

Lots of mandarine, tamarind, and zesty fruit notes dominate. There is a slight grip and phenolic touch on the palate, a long finish and beautiful minerality. Definitely a wine made for the table to accompany a meal with friends.

Maher’s journey is a return to roots, shaped by loss, resilience, and a deep love for his native Lebanon. After years in France, he came back to the Lebanese mountains seeking meaning, finding it in the land where his father once stood. There, he works with old-vine native varieties and a few European varieties to craft wines that express the raw beauty of Lebanon’s high-altitude terroir. A true pioneer, Maher was among the first in Lebanon to become certified biodynamic. His minimalist approach in the cellar allows the purity of the fruit and the spirit of the land to shine through.
