Maher’s life is deeply intertwined with the fortunes of his native Lebanon.
Having lost his father to war at a young age, he eventually moved to France in search of a new life. Yet, feeling unmoored and seeking purpose, he returned to his father’s homeland to make wine.
Working with old-vine native varieties alongside a few European international grapes, Maher crafts wines that reflect the unique character of his terroir—the Lebanese mountains, where the warmth of the climate is balanced by the cooling influence of the sea.
A pioneer in Lebanon, he was among the first to adopt biodynamic farming. In the cellar, his approach remains pure, with all fermentation and aging done in stainless steel to preserve the wines’ freshness and authenticity.
