A truly special wine, Zitani is another indigenous grape variety which has been discovered by Maher, Sept's winemaker, as a part of his travel and exploration of the grape heritage that exists in Lebanon. As of now, Maher is the only one vinifying Zitani in Lebanon.

Coming from extremely old vines of over 150 years old, and which have grown onto other trees planted in the high altitude region of Mayrouba, Mount Lebanon. The bright intensity of the grape is something to experience. Floral and citrusy on the nose, and then fresh and crisp on the palate, this is truly a mountain wine. A beautiful sense of minerality keeps the fruit of the wine in check. Truly a unique expression of Lebanon, found no where else!

Maher’s journey is a return to roots, shaped by loss, resilience, and a deep love for his native Lebanon. After years in France, he came back to the Lebanese mountains seeking meaning, finding it in the land where his father once stood. There, he works with old-vine native varieties and a few European varieties to craft wines that express the raw beauty of Lebanon’s high-altitude terroir. A true pioneer, Maher was among the first in Lebanon to become certified biodynamic. His minimalist approach in the cellar allows the purity of the fruit and the spirit of the land to shine through.
